Environmental Benefits

Maximize Energy Security:

70% of electricity is generated by consuming fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, oil). As fossil fuel resources continue to diminismah, the cost of electricity is guaranteed to continually rise. Generating a portion, or all, of your electricity requirements with solar energy locks in your electric rates for life (once your system has paid for itself, your electricity is FREE), reduces or eliminates your current power bill, and minimizes your dependence on others for power. Click the chart on your right to see where your energy comes from.

Minimize your Carbon Footprint:

“Carbon footprint” is a measure of your impact on the environment, in terms of carbon dioxide, or CO2, (a greenhouse gas) emitted as a result of your daily activities. Driving your car or using energy in your home results in the emission of these greenhouse gasses. Generating electricity (most commonly done by burning fossil fuels) generates a tremendous amount of CO2. Solar electricity generation has the lowest amount of greenhouse gas emission (the bulk of which is generated in the production of the components themselves). Compare for yourself on the chart below or visit the US EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Calculator to explore further.
